Music
Becky told us to choose music for the dinner reception. Well Alvin was Beach Boy all the way and I… it would be nice if we can have a band or something. Hehe… no way we can afford that.
Anyhow, Alvin went to download all the James Bond’s soundtrack and he found this particular song sung by Louise Armstrong “We Have All the Time in the World”. He had been watching too many James Bond nowadays and he knows exactly which scene that particular song was used.
They used it in all the nice scene like walking in the park and all… he said.
Oh! Not the scene they making love in the submarine? I asked.
Anyway, it is a nice song, slow and steady and romantic as well. I thought it is a very nice marching in song so we can take our time, compare to the other song that we choose “Come Go with Me” by beach boy that making want to dance. He thinks otherwise, he thought “We Have All the Time in the World” is a great song for cake cutting ceremony.
I was like “are you nut!!!”
I thought he knows well it was a song they used when they walking in the park???
So, we came to an agreement.
We are going to play “Come Go with Me” and get some monkeys to clear the entrance for us as we marching in, in the event of we can’t reach the “stage” on time at the end of the song, Louise Armstrong will sing “We Have All the Time in the World”, lead us to the stage as we are going to do the cake cutting ceremony and Alvin will give a speech.
Cool huh?!
I guess monkeys of honour will be the flower girl and flower boy instead of our talented colleague from studio 7 and live sound, they will be too shy and they never finish singing any songs they wanted to sing… except “Happy Birthday”.
The logic (no no no… reason!) behind cutting cake and giving speech (don’t worry, two lines only) before our MC announce “the dinner is served” is to let the hotel fellers to take their time to cut the cake and serve it for desert later, and to have everybody’s attention when Alvin is talking (he hardly talk and he was thinking not to give a speech).
And then…
*Psst! Drum rolls and fireworks please~*
Let the show begin!!!!!
Yes yes… you may get drunk silly as you please.
